Ederson Pereira dos Santos, also known as Difavela, was born and raised in Brasilândia, a neighbourhood in the North Zone of São Paulo. He began his artistic graffiti practice in 2004, and in 2017, he was introduced to woodcut printmaking techniques, which helped him to further translate his lived experiences as a Black man on the periphery of Brazilian society.

Through his political, imaginative, artistic, philosophical, and curatorial convictions, he seeks to portray the beauty of Black people and nature. In woodcut, he uses recycled wood to give new meaning and shape to his art.

Difavela has participated in group exhibitions and his work has been featured in publications including Casa Visual Galeria Palmas 2021 - Aves em Extinção.
